The Cougars super 7s side, Hogs Breath, has for the fourth consecutive year, taken the flag after beating Sportingbet 32-24 in the final. Sportingbet, compromising of the best players from the 2 competing GF teams of 2008 could not sustain the speed and skill of the young Hogs. Once again good signs for the 2009 season ahead. The other big news hitting the Cougars is the introduction of Peter McGrath as our Casuarina Cougars first XV coach for the 2009 season. Hailing from NZ and with some high provinicial experience behind him, Peter will be looking to bring some new spark to the Cougars outfit. We welcome all to come down on a Tuesday afternoon and meet Peter over a few cold beverages. Training for Minis & Juniors is at Optus Rugby Park, Marrara every Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4:30, finishing just before the seniors at 5:30. Season starts late March and continues right through the Dry Season TRAINING HAS STARTED FOR 2009. Training has started Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Austar Rugby Park, Marrara starting 5:30pm. This is pre season training, so come down for a bit of fitness and keep the atmosphere alive!! This year is seeing good numbers between 25 and 30 so come join the greatest club in Darwin.
